The Church
Peniel Green English Congregational Church was founded in 1885 to cater for English speaking believers of an independent persuasion. David Picton Jones was a notable minister of the church who assumed the pastorate (1903-1920) after being a missionary in Africa. Luther Rees was the minister from 1957 to 1975 and Rev. R.B. Higham from 1979 to 2001. The current minister is Rev. Neil Pfeiffer
Reformed
The church is confessionally reformed adhering to the Savoy Declaration of Faith. Both Paedo Baptists and Baptists are allowed membership.
A.V.
As a church we use the Authorized Version of the scriptures in all services and meetings. We believe that it is the most faithful and accurate version of the Word of God in English. We believe that God has preserved His Word down through the centuries and that this is realized in the Textus Receptus Greek text underlying the New Testament and the Masoretic Hebrew text the Old Testament.
Worship
Striving to be biblical in our approach to almighty God our worship is simple and reverential. We repudiate all concessions to "new style worship" originally introduced by the Charismatic Movement. We use the unrevised Christian Hymns hymnbook. The minister normally ministers to the "Flock" in the morning service and aims to preach the Gospel to unbelievers at the evening service.
Evangelism
We feel our responsibility to spread the Gospel in the locality. We seek to do so by prayer, visitation and literature distribution. We have an evangelistic Sunday School.
